Santa María Golf is regarded as one of the best-maintained courses on the Costa del Sol. It all began when a group of golfers sought land large enough for an 18-hole course, with the potential to expand to 36 holes, and space for a small residential development in Marbella. Nestled in small valleys surrounded by pine trees and cork oaks, the course is less than 200 meters from one of Marbella's finest beaches. The first 9 holes, designed by Antonio García Garrido, quickly became a favorite among golfers, many of whom became members. The second 9 holes, opened in November 1996, were designed by the Club’s technical team. Today, both experienced players and beginners consider Santa María one of Marbella's top courses. The Clubhouse, an impressive 19th-century Spanish Cortijo, features two floors and is surrounded by beautiful gardens, enhancing the course’s charm and appeal.
