First opened in 1968, Atalaya's Old Course is considered one of the finest on the Costa del Sol. Its wide, gently undulating fairways are lined with mature trees and flowering shrubs, offering shade and vibrant colors year-round. The elevated greens add an extra challenge, requiring precise club selection and careful reading of the subtle contours for successful putting. The New Course, designed by Paul Krings and opened in 1990, offers a different challenge. Known for designing several European courses, including the renowned GC Schloss Maxlrain in Germany, Krings created a course that emphasizes accuracy over distance. Set in the hills above the Old Course, it features sloping fairways and greens, requiring strategic shot choices.
