Originally built for the workers and greenkeepers of Valderrama, which has the largest number of golfers in Spain, the La Cañada golf course has turned out to be a pretty good course for itself and offers a nice round of golf for everyone. The golf course with a length of 5,841 meters from white tees has 18 holes ( Par 71 ), nine holes designed by David Thomas and the other nine by Robert Trent Jones Senior. La Cañada was a 9-hole course for 20 years until club appointed Dave Thomas in 2002. The practice area consists of a large driving range with a platform of 5,000 square meters and 250 meters long, it is one of the largest in the Costa del Sol area complete with two practice putting greens and approach area. The full-length Trent Jones course is located in the hills adjacent to Valderrama and is open to some wind. The long first hole sets the tone for a tough round of golf and the 4th is a trek into the unknown with no view of the green until the third shot.
